Parity.

Know exactly which deadline applies, and where it comes from.

Tell Parity one date about your child's EHC needs assessment. It shows you every statutory deadline that follows — what was due, when, what has already been missed, and the exact regulation each date comes from.

What it does

Every deadline that applies

Not a generic timeline — the deadlines for the stage you are actually at, worked out from your dates. Including the ones the council has already missed.

The source for every date

Tap any deadline to see the provision it comes from: the Children and Families Act 2014, the SEND Regulations 2014, or the Code of Practice. Quoted, not paraphrased.

What evidence you're missing

A checklist of the documents the process expects you to have at your stage, and which of them you don't hold yet.

It refuses rather than guesses

If your dates contradict each other, or your situation may fall inside a statutory exception, Parity says so instead of showing a confident wrong answer.

What it costs

The timeline and the evidence checklist

Free

Permanently. No account, no cookies, no tracking.

  • Every deadline, with its statutory source
  • Evidence gaps for your stage
  • Reminders while the app is open
  • Export everything you've entered, any time

If you want three more things

£8/month

Monthly. Cancel any time. No annual tie-in.

  • Reminders that reach your phone when Parity is closed
  • Letters filled in with your own dates
  • A tribunal-ready case file built from your record

Paying adds nothing to the deadlines themselves. Knowing about a deadline is always free; being tapped on the shoulder about it, when you're not looking, is part of what you pay for. For comparison, a single assessment-request letter written for you by an advocate is commonly £395.

What we've signed up to

  1. Your dates never leave your device, by default. All the calculation happens in your browser. No cookies, no tracking. The free tier needs no account. Don't take our word for it — open your browser's network tab and use the tool.
  2. The timeline and evidence checklist stay free. We will never put those behind a paywall.
  3. Every date shows its source. If a date has no provision behind it, it doesn't appear.
  4. It errors out rather than guesses. Where the law is genuinely unclear, Parity says the law is unclear.
  5. Corrections within 48 hours. Challenge any calculation at feedback@parityhub.org.uk and we'll cite the source or ship the fix. The changelog is public.

Questions people ask first

Is this another AI thing? AI gets SEND law wrong.

Agreed — chatbots do, which is why this isn't one. There is no AI in this tool. It is a calculator over a hand-verified encoding of the statute, and that encoding is published openly so anyone, including the lawyers among you, can audit it.

Why should we trust you with our data?

You shouldn't have to. The free tool is built so we never receive it. Check the network tab.

Are you competing with IPSEA or SOS!SEN?

No. They give advice; Parity signposts to them throughout. This does one narrow thing — deadline arithmetic with citations — as well as we can make it. It is meant to make you a better-armed caller when you finally get through to them.

What about the white paper — are EHCPs being scrapped?

Proposals were published in February 2026. Nothing changes for existing plans before 2030, and current legal rights apply in full today.

This is information, not advice

Parity is not a solicitor and does not give legal advice. It tells you what the statutory process says should happen, and when. For advice about your specific case: IPSEA, SOS!SEN, or Special Needs Jungle.
